Everyone remembers the hoops they grew up on — that distinct sound of the swish of the net, the slap of the bank shot on the backboard, and the thousands of imaginary walk-off buzzer beaters. BUCKETS came to be organically as a way to preserve and admire the neighborhood hoops throughout our city, Portland, OR. These hoops carry with them a myriad of stories through their heartfelt messages, DIY character, bold team allegiances, and impressive engineering.

This 8x10” photo print, HOME COURT, is of one of our favorite hoops in the city, and among the original hoops that inspired the idea of BUCKETS three years ago.

350+ hoops photographed later, our ode to the city culminates in a coffee table book of these neighborhood hoops. This hoop is the first image in the book, and welcomes you to our journey through Portland. The book drops holiday 2020.
